Family:    Mother of: Cronus and Rhea

 

                   Siblings: Poseidon
                                  Hades

                                  Hera

                                  Zeus

                                  Demeter

 

            Daughter of: (Sworn Virgin)

   

                   Consort: 

 

Status: Hestia was originally one of the 12 Olympian Gods but                   she gave up her seat to Dionysus and took to                                 constantly tending to the Olympian sacred hearth.

 

Title: Goddess of the Hearth, Home, Family, the Sacred Fire                    and Architecture.

 

Weapon of Choice: Hestia could use fire as a weapon but                                              rarely did.

 

Symbols of Hestia: Hearth - Represents home.

                                  Fire - Represents warmth and family.

 

Sacred Animal(s): Donkey - Represents Hestia's virginity.

 

Places of Worship: Hestia didn't have one famous place of worship but she would have been worshipped everywhere as there is a hearth in every home. When a newborn baby was given a name, the infant was carried to the hearth, where a blessing was bestowed upon the child.

 

Roman Counterpart: Vesta

 

Special Features: Hestia is one of the three virgin goddess of Mount Olympus and therefor has never had any children.
