Status: One of the Twelve Olympian Gods.

 

Title: Goddess of Marriage, Motherhood and Family. Queen of             Olympus.

 

Weapon of Choice: Her Dagger.

                                 the Queen of Olympus.

 

Sacred Animal(s): The Cuckoo – Represents Zeus’ love for                                    her and his trickery.

                               The Lion - Represents her royal status.

 

Places of Worship: One of Hera’s main temples was called the Temple of Hera, located in Olympia. It is also known as Heraion and was constructed about 600 BCE. The Temple was destroyed 4th century ACE.

 

Roman Counterpart: Juno.

 

Special Features: As Hera is the Goddess of Marriage and   Family, she does not involve herself with mortal men, and her vows of nuptials were sacred so she was never unfaithful to Zeus.
