Status: One of the Twelve Olympian Gods.

 

Title: Goddess of Wise Counsel, War Strategy, the Defense of Towns, Heroic Endeavour, Weaving, Pottery and other crafts.

 

Weapon of Choice: Though Athena preferred to use logic to                                          win a battle, she fights with her spear and                                      shield, when needed. 

 

Symbols of Athena: Olive Tree - Represents peace and                                                     goodwill.

                                    Helmet - Represents wisdom and strategy                                       are the keys to victory in war.

                                    Aegis - Represents Athena being a divine                                         ruler.

 

Sacred Animal(s): Owl - Represents wisdom.

 

Places of Worship: The most well-known place of worship for Athena is the famous Parthenon. Though not one of the oldest temples, the Parthenon is well-known because most of the runins are still standing. The Parthenon means 'the chamber of the virgin' and was built in honour of Athena. The Parthenon was built to house a 35-foot-high statue of Athena, made of ivory and gold. 

 

Roman Counterpart: Minerva

 

Special Features: Athena is one of the three virgin goddess of Mount Olympus and therefor has never had any children.
